Advising

International Studies joins together students and courses from across the University, therefore a strong system of advising has been created to guide students through the program. The adviser is an invaluable resource of experience and ideas.

The adviser helps establish a course of study for each adjunct major, explores options, and reviews the progress of each student. In addition, the International Studies adviser can furnish the names of faculty members who are knowledgeable about the program. In the spring of their junior year, all adjunct majors must meet with the adviser to petition to graduate.

With the new program requirements, advising has become an essential part of our program. If you are interested in international studies you should set up an advising appointment to determine which plan is best for you early in your undergraduate career because the Thematic Cluster (new) Plan requires more careful planning.
